Peminatan K3 dibawah Magister Kesehatan Masyarakat pada tahun 2014 masih dalam bentuk konsentrasi atau peminatan, namun telah berdiri sendiri dan mendidik sebanyak 98 peserta didik hingga tahun 2020.<\/p><p>Mahasiswa peminatan K3 selalu menjadi salah satu peminatan dengan jumlah mahasiswa terbesar di prodi S2 Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat, maka Departemen K3 berinisiatif untuk membentuk Program Studi Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja. Inisiatif pembentukan prodi ini disetujui dalam rapat departemen diawal tahun 2018 oleh seluruh dosen departemen K3 dan mendapat persetujuan Senat FKM, kemudian departemen membentuk tim task force untuk menyusun proposal pengajuan prodi baru berdasarkan informasi dari LAM PT-Kes, dan melakukan lokakarya dengan menghadirkan <em>stakeholders<\/em> yang berasal dari professional K3 di perusahaan, pemerintah, organisasi K3 dan lain-lain. Lokakarya ini menghasilkan rekomendasi yang menjadi bahan penyusunan kurikulum Program Studi Magister (S2) Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3). Tahun 2019 tim task force menyelesaikan segala dokumen proposal pengajuan pembentukan prodi baru yang didampingi oleh GPM FKM Unhas sehingga dokumen tersebut diajukan ke Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu dan Pengembangan Pendidikan (LPMPP). Proses penilaian kelayakan dokumen dilakukan oleh assessor internal oleh LPMPP dan diajukan ke Senat Akademik Universitas Hasanuddin. Januari 2020 tim task force melakukan persentasi di hadapan senat akademik yang menghasilkan beberapa masukan demi kesempurnaan pembentukan Program Studi Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja. Mei 2020 tim task force melakukan persentasi melalui zoom meeting bersama Ketua dan Anggota Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) dan mengesahkan pembentukan Program Studi Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja.<\/p><p>Bulan Juni 2020 Program Magister K3 resmi sebagai program studi baru di FKM Unhas. Program Studi Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja memiliki 7 dosen yang terdiri dari 5 dosen Guru Besar dan 2 dosen berkualifikasi Doktor.
